BCP 218 : Disaster Recovery Planning for ICT Professionals


This is an intermediate level course suitable for BCM Managers, IT Managers and IT recovery team members

This 2 days course covers all the areas of plan design, development and implementation but with the emphasis on IT services.

We look at the use of current technologies such as cloud computing, virtualization, reduplication, etc as tools to enhance the disaster recovery capability of IT services.

We will also cover some aspect of recovery site selection and operations. This is important in disaster recovery planning because often the IT services are one of the essential support services in any modern organization and has to be available within a short period of a disruption.

We use NIST’s SP800 – Contingency Planning for Information Systems and BS25777 – Information and Communication Technology Continuity Management as references in this course.
