Benchmarking

Description

When an organization has reached a level of business continuity maturity, they will want to compare themselves against other players in the industry. The best way to do this is to measure against an established standard or practice.

There are several recognized standards in the market today. A standard is a documentation which has obtained through consensus an agreement from the local industry and national standards body as a document which provides guidelines, procedures, specifications or methodology to achieve a minimum level of practice in a particular areas or discipline. Not all standards are certifiable. Neither is it compulsory for organization to certify itself against a standard to be compliant with it.
